Ahead of President Bola Tinubu’s highly anticipated visit to Anambra State on Today, security measures have been significantly ramped up in the state capital, Awka. The city is witnessing an increased presence of security personnel as preparations for the visit reach their peak.
Roads across Awka have been cordoned off, and security operatives from various agencies are stationed at strategic points in the city. The increased security includes personnel from the Nigeria Police Force, Department of State Services (DSS), Nigerian Army, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), and local vigilante groups. These efforts are aimed at ensuring peace and safety before, during, and after the president’s visit.
The State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, reassured the public that the security forces are fully equipped and prepared to handle any situation and maintain order throughout the event. He emphasized that the safety of residents and visitors is a top priority.
President Tinubu’s visit is expected to be a significant event for the state, with the inauguration of several key projects, including the Solution FunCity, Anambra Country Club, and the new Government House, Government Lodge, and Presidential Lodge.
