The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a 25-year-old man in Odomola, Epe, for allegedly being in possession of human organs intended for ritual purposes.
Command spokesperson, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the arrest in a statement on Friday. He said the suspect was caught on April 25 by officers from the Odo-Noforija Division after receiving credible information from concerned residents.
According to preliminary investigations, the suspect was transporting the organs from Edo State to deliver them to a native doctor for suspected money-making rituals.
The human organs have been moved to the General Hospital in Epe for safe preservation, while the case has been handed over to the Edo State Police Command for further investigation and possible prosecution.
Commissioner of Police, Mr. Olohundare Jimoh, praised both the officers involved and the vigilant residents of Odomola who alerted the police. He emphasized the importance of timely public cooperation in fighting crime.
He also assured Lagosians of the command’s continued efforts to protect lives and property across the state.
