The Niger State Police Command has recovered a stolen black Toyota Corolla after a dramatic chase ended in a crash along Dikko Road, Suleja.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Wasiu Abiodun, the vehicle—initially reported stolen near the Midwifery School in Tunga, Minna on May 15, 2025—was recovered just hours after it was taken.

Abiodun said the vehicle, with registration number EKY 80 DZ, was spotted by officers of the Maje Division during a night patrol around 10 p.m. The officers noticed the suspicious car bearing a different front plate number (BDG 271 AT) and no rear plate along the Kwamba-Maje Road.

When flagged down, the two men inside the vehicle refused to stop and sped off, but crashed into a tricycle shortly after. They abandoned the car and fled on foot before the officers could apprehend them.

The police recovered the car and other items left behind, and the owner has confirmed it was the same vehicle stolen in Minna. Investigations are ongoing, including forensic analysis of the recovered exhibits to identify the suspects.
