The Police Command in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has launched an investigation into the death of a woman found unconscious and tied up in an Abuja hotel.

The FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, confirmed in a statement on Wednesday that the incident happened in a hotel located in the Gwarinpa area of Abuja. The victim, identified as Aladi Johnson, also known as Tessy, from Benue State, was discovered on June 16 in a hotel room with her hands bound behind her back.

Preliminary findings revealed that the woman checked into the hotel with an unidentified man who left the premises without her. Hotel staff found her unconscious during routine checks and alerted the police, but medical evaluation later confirmed she had died.

The FCT Commissioner of Police, Mr. Ajao Adewale, has ordered a discreet and thorough investigation to uncover the circumstances surrounding the death. He urged the public to remain calm and allow the police to carry out their work.

The police also called on young women to be careful in dealing with strangers and to always share their locations with friends or family for safety. Hotel operators were advised to strengthen security measures by verifying guest identities and installing surveillance cameras to help prevent such incidents.
