President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Tuesday received Queen Mary Elizabeth of Denmark during a courtesy visit to the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The Queen was warmly welcomed by President Tinubu and First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu in what is seen as a significant moment in Nigeria’s diplomatic relations with Denmark.
Although the meeting was held behind closed doors, it is believed to be part of ongoing efforts to strengthen ties between Nigeria and the European nation.
Top government officials present at the event included the Chief of Staff to the President, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila; Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar; and the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Alhaji Atiku Bagudu.
The Queen’s visit underscores Denmark’s interest in expanding cooperation with Nigeria in areas such as trade, development, and climate action.
