Benue Community in Fear as Herdsmen Strike Again

    Share

Two farmers were badly injured on Thursday when suspected armed Fulani herdsmen attacked Adeor settlement in Ndzorov Council Ward of Guma Local Government Area, Benue State.

The area is the hometown of former governor, Samuel Ortom.

Eyewitnesses said the attack happened when the farmers — Nensha Adeor and Kator Gbenge — tried to stop herders from allowing their cows to graze on their farmland. The herders, reportedly armed with machetes, launched a brutal assault, leaving both men with deep wounds.

The victims are currently receiving treatment at the General Hospital in Gbajimba. Medical staff said their condition is critical.

This attack comes just days after another farmer in the same area was kidnapped by suspected herdsmen. The victim has not been found, and no ransom demand has been made.
