Akume’s Removal a ‘Fabrication’- SGF Office

    Share

Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, has dismissed widespread rumours claiming he resigned or was removed from office.

The false reports surfaced on social media late Saturday, suggesting that Akume had been replaced by Hadiza Bala Usman. However, the Office of the SGF issued a statement on Sunday debunking the claims as baseless and misleading.

According to Segun Imohiosen, Director of Information and Public Relations for the SGF, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu remains fully confident in Akume’s leadership and has no plans to replace him.

The statement said, “The purported removal of the SGF is a fabrication and a figment of the imagination of mischief makers.”

The Office urged the public and media to verify information before spreading it, warning that fake news can undermine trust in government institutions.
