The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has confirmed that he revoked a plot of land belonging to former Imo State Governor, Senator Rochas Okorocha, over unpaid ground rent.

Speaking in Abuja during the 60th birthday celebration of the National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Samuel Anyanwu, Wike made it clear that his administration would not tolerate default on land rent payments, no matter who is involved.

Wike highlighted that all property owners in Abuja must comply with the rules or risk losing their land, adding that his leadership is committed to maintaining high standards in the FCT.

“Rochas Okorocha is here, he is my boss, even though I revoked his land because the right thing must be done. He is still my man,” Wike said.

The event, which took place at the newly renovated Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre, had several top politicians in attendance, including former Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu.

Wike said the transformation of the centre by Julius Berger was funded by revenue from compliant landowners, urging others to do the same. He noted that those who pay will receive quality service, promising continued improvements under President Bola Tinubu’s leadership.
