APC Won’t Break Over Defections – Dalori

The Acting National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ali Bukar Dalori, has assured Nigerians that the ruling party remains united and will not be shaken by recent defections from opposition parties.

Speaking in an interview with the BBC, Dalori dismissed fears that the continuous influx of defectors could lead to internal crisis within the APC.

“There is nothing to worry about. Those who are defecting to our party know that in their former parties, they won’t get what they want. They believe in the APC because they know we deliver,” he said.

Dalori highlighted that APC is stable and cannot be divided. “APC can’t get disunited because we are united,” he stated.

On strengthening the party, Dalori said he plans to lead reconciliation efforts at all levels—from the ward to national level. “It is a must for me to meet with politicians directly or send a team to resolve issues. Politics is about the people,” he added.

He also pledged full support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda. According to Dalori, the APC will do everything possible to help Nigerians understand and benefit from the president’s policies.

“President Tinubu’s strategies are working. Our duty is to show the people that these policies are in their best interest,” he said.

Commenting on the recent political tension in Gombe, Dalori described it as part of normal party politics, adding that the APC remains focused on unity and national progress.

He said consultations are still ongoing regarding whether the party will hold its end-of-year meeting, as decisions are yet to be finalized with key stakeholders.
