Lady Murdered in Nsukka Hotel, Suspect on the Run

    Share

A young woman was found murdered over the weekend in a hotel located in the Ibagwa Road area of Nsukka, Enugu State. The incident happened at Madoka Hotel in Obukpa Layout, close to the University of Nigeria town.

According to sources, the lady checked into the hotel with a young man the day before the tragedy. The man left the hotel alone the next morning, telling staff that the woman had left earlier and claiming she was a prostitute. The hotel workers, new on the job, believed him without suspicion.

Minutes later, cleaners discovered the woman’s body in the room. Reports initially circulated on social media that the man had murdered the woman for ritual purposes, removing her vital body parts and covering her with a mattress and bedsheet. It was also said that the phone number the man gave at check-in was fake.

However, when contacted, the Enugu State Police spokesperson, SP Daniel Ndukwe, denied the ritual murder claims. He confirmed that a murder case is under investigation but stated clearly that there was no mutilation or missing body parts.

“There was never anything like mutilation or removal of body parts,” Ndukwe said. “Obviously, she was murdered, but the claims of ritual killing are falsehood.”
