The Gombe State Police Command has arrested two suspects in connection with the brutal killing of a 22-year-old man, Dauda Ahmed, in Kumo, Akko Local Government Area.

The suspects, Babayo Musa (20) and Zaidu Sani (18), allegedly conspired with two others still at large to attack the victim over suspicions that he stole a motorcycle.

The incident happened on Tuesday morning in Jauro Musa Quarters, where Dauda was ambushed and attacked with machetes. He sustained serious injuries to his head and stomach. He was rushed to the General Hospital in Kumo, where doctors confirmed him dead on arrival.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Buhari Abdullahi, the suspects confessed to the crime, while the remaining two accomplices, identified as Sulaiman and Usama, are still being tracked.

“This is a clear case of criminal conspiracy and culpable homicide. Jungle justice is a crime, no matter the reason. No one has the right to take the law into their own hands,” Abdullahi said.
