Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has openly criticised the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), saying Nigerians are fed up with the party and are now searching for credible alternatives.
Speaking during an interview on Arise TV’s PrimeTime, El-Rufai described the current APC-led administration as the worst in Nigeria’s history, citing widespread public dissatisfaction.
“We have polled that — there is a 91% disapproval of this administration across the country,” El-Rufai stated. “It is the worst in Nigerian history.”
While he did not mention President Tinubu directly, his comments were widely seen as a direct attack on the current leadership of the APC, the party he helped bring to power in 2015.
El-Rufai called on politicians to put aside personal ambitions and differences to give Nigerians real alternatives in future elections. “Nigerians want to see credible people coming together and offering hope, not more of the same failure,” he said.
El-Rufai’s remarks come at a time of growing public frustration over economic hardship, insecurity, and governance issues under the APC government. His comments have sparked discussions about the future of the party and whether strong opposition coalitions may emerge ahead of the next general election.
