Iran Declares End to 12-Day War with Israel

Iran’s President, Masoud Pezeshkian, has officially declared the end of a 12-day war with Israel, describing it as a victory for the Iranian people. The announcement was made on Tuesday through the state-run IRNA news agency.

“Today, after the heroic resistance of our great nation… we are witnessing the establishment of a truce and the ending of this 12-day war imposed by the adventurism and provocation of Israel,” President Pezeshkian said in a televised address.

The war, which began on June 13, was triggered by rising tensions between the two longtime enemies. Israel claimed the military action was necessary to stop Iran from developing a nuclear weapon—an accusation Tehran has repeatedly denied.

This is the first major international conflict faced by Pezeshkian since becoming president. The short war reportedly caused damage in both countries, but exact figures on casualties and destruction have not yet been released.

Iran’s leadership is portraying the truce as a sign of strength, praising the country’s “resistance” and unity. The ceasefire is expected to ease immediate regional tensions, though observers say deeper issues between the two nations remain unresolved.
