A young woman identified as Faith, from Benue State, was stabbed to death by suspected robbers on Friday along Mobile Road in the Ajah area of Lagos.
Faith, a native of Itakpa Ito in Obi Local Government Area, had visited her boyfriend earlier in the day and was returning home when she was attacked.
Eyewitnesses said the robbers tried to snatch her handbag and phone. During the struggle, one of them stabbed her in the neck with a sharp object believed to be a knife.
She was left bleeding on the roadside and was later found lifeless by passersby who called the authorities. Her body has been taken to a nearby mortuary.
As of the time of this report, the Lagos State Police Command had not issued an official statement. However, investigations are ongoing to find and arrest the attackers.
The tragic killing has sparked renewed concern about growing insecurity and street crime in parts of Lagos, particularly the Ajah axis, which has witnessed similar violent incidents in recent months.
