    Truck Accident Kills 4, Injures 8 on Enugu-Port Harcourt Road

    A fatal accident along the Enugu-Port Harcourt expressway has claimed the lives of four people in Abia State. The incident occurred early Saturday morning at Amorji community in Isiala Ngwa North Local Government Area.

    The crash, which happened around 5:00 a.m., involved a truck transporting goods to Umuahia. According to eyewitnesses, the vehicle lost control, possibly due to brake failure or poor visibility, and crashed, leaving several passengers trapped.

    The Abia State Emergency Medical Service (EMS) responded promptly after being alerted by local residents. The EMS team evacuated the injured to the hospital using their ambulance.

    Confirming the incident, the Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) in Abia, Mrs. Ngozi Ezeoma, said the truck was carrying 12 passengers — 11 males and one female.

    She reported that four men died on the spot, while eight others — seven men and one woman — sustained serious injuries and are currently receiving treatment in the hospital.
