Former Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, has dismissed claims that he has defected from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the African Democratic Congress (ADC), saying he remains loyal to the APC and former President Muhammadu Buhari.
Sirika made the statement on Thursday via his verified X (formerly Twitter) account, in response to comments made by Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, during an interview on Arise TV.
“I watched HE Nyesom Wike today on Arise claiming that I have joined the so-called coalition,” Sirika wrote. “Whilst still in shock, I read on Premium Times a report credited to Chief Bayo Onanuga making the same claim.”
He dismissed the claims as false, stressing that he was a founding member of the APC and even coined the party’s name.
“I have no plans to leave the APC. I will always be where President Buhari is. If you must hate him, hate me too. I have no apology,” he added.
Sirika also accused both Wike and Onanuga of spreading unfounded rumours and called on loyal APC members to ignore the reports.
“At their levels, they ought to fact-check. I urge our party members to treat these claims as pedestrian and move on,” he said.
Sirika served as Aviation Minister under President Buhari’s administration and is known to be one of his staunch allies. His comments reaffirm his continued loyalty to the former president and the APC.
