    Boko Haram Attack Kills 9, Injures 4 in Borno

    At least nine people were killed and four others injured in a Boko Haram attack on Malamfatori community in Abadam Local Government Area of Borno State, the government confirmed on Saturday.

    Governor Babagana Umara Zulum, currently abroad on official duties, sent his condolences and cash donations to the families affected by the attack. His representative, Commissioner for Local Government and Emirate Affairs Sugun Mele, spoke on his behalf during a visit to the community.

    Mele assured residents that the state government and military would intensify efforts to secure Malamfatori, describing the town as strategically important to the region’s stability.

    Governor Zulum urged the people to stay resilient and prayerful to help prevent future attacks. He also praised the military’s courage and commitment in the fight against Boko Haram and ISWAP insurgents.

    To enhance security, the government announced the deployment of excavators to dig trenches around the local government headquarters as a protective barrier against further attacks.
