A community group, Bokkos Likeminds Association (BLA), has strongly condemned the ongoing killings and destruction in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State, blaming the violence on suspected Fulani militias.

In a statement jointly signed by its President, Dr. ST Nguwap, and General Secretary, Engr. Morgan Mangai, the group described the attacks as systematic, organized, and genocidal, adding that hundreds of lives have been lost and entire communities displaced from their ancestral farmlands.

The group alleged that Fulani immigrants with no ancestral or legal claims to the land were behind the attacks, and called for their eviction as part of a broader plan to restore peace.

“We demand the immediate eviction of Fulani immigrants without legal claims to Bokkos land,” the statement read. “The survival of our people is under serious threat.”

The BLA also urged the federal and state governments to take decisive action to end the killings. The group listed several demands including:

They further appealed to international organisations and human rights bodies to intervene and support the people of Bokkos in their call for justice, reform, and security.

The group’s statement comes amid ongoing violence in Plateau State, where clashes between farmers and herders have claimed many lives in recent years. The state has been one of the flashpoints of Nigeria’s wider security crisis, with community leaders often calling for stronger government response.
